How can we be the organic church of the first century in this time,
in this culture? All things seem to conspire to prevent this. Real
community disappears in the malestrom of activity. Devotion to God
and to each other pales in the cacophony of voices calling to us
24-7.
We believe that the Lord wants to restore much of what has been lost
of the nature of the first century church: the community of believers,
the priesthood of each believer, the expectation that God still
moves and works in our world.
Heartbeat is a journey, not a destination. We do not have a five-year
plan or a doctrinal statement fully explaining our path. What we have
is a desire to follow our Lord Jesus Christ step by step on this
journey to reclaim what has been lost.
